Brothers... and best buddies :)by TrollManComment by PenelopeK: What a wonderful capture! I love how the one on the left, whom I take to be slightly older, is watching his brother who seems just a little more carefree than him at that moment. I grew up with a sister who is just 12 months younger than me and is more of an extrovert than I am. The dynamic I see here reminds me of that. There is also something about kids when their hair is wet that I find very evocative, but I don't quite know why that is...
Thanks for sharing a wonderful family image. |

the last drop of water by TrollManComment by kenskid: I like this comment. I have a buddy who ragged on this challenge all week. He complained about all the editing. In a challenge like this, I like the fact that they have so many different kinds of photos.
I like the expert editing challenges. It gives you a chance to do things you wouldn't normally do on DPC !

I have to say I disagree with all the comments saying it's the victory of "photography" against "digital art", or whatever people call things. I don't see the point of opposing type of pictures, processing styles, photographers visions, etc. It's not a war! ;-)
Editing is a tool, just a tool. It can be indispensable, or close to useless, depending on the creation and what is needed to achieve it. Your idea just worked outstandingly that way, and it also appeared to be the best of the challenge, so you won, that's basically it :-)
Congratulations again! |

the last drop of water by TrollManComment by kenskid:
From your comments it looks like you were going for the reduction in available water in the world. However, when I saw it, I thought you were going for the theme that I was going for in my DQ entry....making light of all the water drop photos on DPC. I wonder how many others thought the same?
Good job. I gave this an 8. Message edited by author 2011-06-11 09:37:56. |
