That's the coolest portrait!
I love the expression and the fact that I can not see his eyes.
I like the grain in the photo and the somewhat monotone colors.
The only suggestion I would have is a bit of burning the whites of the drums. They are a bit distracting IMO. But I wouldn't crop them out! I love that space at the left.

Also, I am not too keen on that hairy background. it looks alive...
But I really like the idea and the composition. I would love to see a re-shoot of this one with softer light and some sand-stone grainy wall at the background.

I agree. I also think the shot looks a bit too soft. You may may have been going for that, but I think it might work better a bit sharper
