Kind of like the picture of misdriven nails. I like the lighting and the wood in this. Also the dark space in the lower right corner provides good balance.

Nice image, and well focused, but the strong shadow on the right side really detracts quite badly. There are several things you could try: wait for your shot until the sun is positioned well, crop the shot to eliminate the right half, shoot with a muted fill flash, or use a large piece of white cardboard or other white material to reflect some light onto the dark part of the subject.

The left of the wood seems a little bit overexposed. Too much focus I think is on the wood rather than the nails.

Maybe a different time of day would have evened out the shadows making this a more interesting photo. The top and side have some great detail but the bottom and to the right is pretty much lost.
