A very impressive image that may find many takers on a stock photo album. |

Temple Gardenby MAKComment by srbrubaker: I think this is a very solid photo of a very beautiful space.
If this photo underperforms it will be partly because we teach ourselves at this site to see in pictures of 640 pixels. Photos with lots of detail - ones that offer up strong images of extended and detailed spaces - often tend to be underrated. Some of this is justified by the limits of the medium. But sometimes I think it goes too far. |

Temple Gardenby MAKComment by scuds: The idea is actually very good, but I think it lacks some colors. It looks pretty dull. 6 |

Temple Gardenby MAKComment by Montereykiddo: Not really a classic stock photo. A stock photo is one that can be picked up by different ad agencies for many forms of advertisements. |

Eyelinerby MAKComment by strangeghost: I really, really want to like this image, but something just doesn't click for me. I'm sure it has something to do with the extremely shallow dof. So much of the detail of the eye is lost in the front and back. I'm sure you were intending the very singular focus on the saturated portion of the eyeball, but I think you would have gotten more 'wow' if the other parts of the eye had been gently (not dramatically) defocused. On the other hand, the portions of the skin just below, and to the top left, that are in sharp focus add a tantalizing element of wonder, and give the eye places to stop and rest as it roams over the photo. I've been back to this entry several times (remember, I REALLY want to like it) and haven't tired of looking yet. I just think it could have been stronger... |

Eyelinerby MAKComment by brianlh: fantastic image. i would've perhaps named it "line of sight" or something similar in order to make the connection more obvious (although perhaps that wasn't the line you were intending to depict). great use of selective desat here. |
