Dicesby saintnicholas_25Comment by BikeRacer: interesting idea, but lighting seems a bit drab. looks like a combination of natural and electric light with odd blue highlights from a window. |

Dicesby saintnicholas_25Comment by Travis99: I think the pink chips will take away from this photo. I don't really know why. Also maybe only 2 colors of dice, 6 white and 1 red, like a broken patteren |

School Safety Zone - Getting Home Safeby saintnicholas_25Comment by Gatorguy: I think for a subject such as this to be effective, you have to be very creative in your angles and point of view of the shot. As it is, the house and the signage are about equal in sharpness and brightness so there is no separation between the two. While it does indicate that there is a law, it doesn't really make a "statement" because the message doesn't "pop" out of the photo. I'm giving this a 5 for effort. |

School Safety Zone - Getting Home Safeby saintnicholas_25Comment by Skip: this is fine for the challenge, and i'm betting your scoring will break down like this: a 5 avg (mainly 5s, mixed with some 4s, but more 6s) from those who bothered to really look at it, then a lot of 3s and 4s from those who don't. the trick to scoring higher is to grab the voters attention, then keep it. here, a higher perspective that would really focus in on the road painting would have done that. i don't know how safe it would be, but if you had somebody else driving, you could stop your car in the road and climb on the roof or hood to get that higher perspective. unfortunately, here, it is laying too flat to be seen immediately, when you really need it to jump out a grab attention. |

B/W Chess - Thats New !by saintnicholas_25Comment by moodville: The black and white checkerboard is indeed a classic and I think this shot has potential. I like the marble, it's certainly different from the glass and wooden chess pieces that are fairly popular. The reflections in both the checks and the pieces are interesting. I find the section of door a little distracting and think a plain white background may have helped more. I also dont see where the focus is in the image as they all look a little out of focus, or else the image is just generally fairly soft. |
