though the surface also shows a form of texture, I believe, I think this subject would be better done on a solid colored surface - like black. I think that would highlight the textures of the leaf, and not detract from it by providing another pattern to look at. karmat

Nice subject and decent composition. I do have some suggestions that might improve this. I find the background too distracting and not contrasting enough with the subject. I sussest a solid color or white. The chain could wrap around and remain in the fram as another graphical element. The focus could be sharpened with some unsharp mask and could look better if the foreground were in focus. Either let the background go blurry or use a higher f/stop to increase the depth of field.

Yes, I know -- personal interprettion of fear.... This one doesn't work for me. Not because of the idea, but because of the doll you chose. One of the Twilight Zones that freaks me out the most is one with an evil doll that ends up killing a man. If you could have found a freakier looking doll (not necessarily a Chuckie, understand) I'd have gone along with this. But this one looks too Shirley Temple to me.
