Homework is soooo over-rated!!by evmariedogsComment by evmariedogs: Originally posted by UberFish: The three points of interest (books, penci on peperl, open book) are all in the top helf of the frame and have equal weight. Close in on the subject till the boopks are half out of frame, and the paper is on a line of third. Use the pencil to point at a compositional element, or use it to underline some notes on the page (write a big A+ on the paper and use the pencil to draw the eye to that place). There is a big band of grey along the top of the image and a big band of dark along the bottom, both of these are de-emphasising the surface of the desk that the compositional elements are sitting on. Try not to have upside down writing, the viewerwill read it anyway, so make it easy (unless you want it upside down for a very specific purpose). Lighting is horrible, try not to use the flash if you can help it. |

Blue Switchby evmariedogsComment by Allen: the blue above the switches eliminates the symmetry in the picture you would have been better off with just the ones at the bottom |

Puuurdy Pencilsby evmariedogsComment by evmariedogs: Originally posted by Kavey: What an excellent pencil collection. Interesting layout, but the pink carpet is definitely overshadowing the wonderful colours of the pencils (for me anyway). Nice even lighting across whole lot.

Signs of Times Squareby evmariedogsComment by PTLParsons: Top 2/3 of photo appears washed out. White spots everywhere are very distracting. May cleaning your lens would help. Technically I see one "road sign" and it is behind a lamp post and barely visible and a small street sign and "one way" sign across the street. They are to hidden or lost in the photo to be your subject. Since "road signs" is the challenge in my opinion you have not met the challenge. Yes, there are lots of "signs" that are not "road signs". |
