There isn't much of a composition here. This might have worked better as a vertical shot. You also ended up with some lens distortion, which is more obvious because of all the vertical lines in the shot. You can probably correct this with software, but in the future you might try using different focal lengths/zooms to find out where your camera/lens have the least distortion.

I think you done a good job of meeting the challenge. Good picture quality but I think your technique was off IMO. The church attendance/tithing board distracts me from the picture. I would of love to see this the picture with camera angle from behind the two subjects. Just my 2 cents worth – anyway it’s a good photograph.

There's a lot of potential for this photo to annoy those who hate distractions...but I think in the end all of the lines and their distracting nature only serve to help bring out the boy more. Good job.
