Grave side bouquetby itripnComment by Artifacts: Unsure that the soft focused gravstones make much of a difference. Cemeteries generally invoke strong feelings and most of the high rated images in the challenge were on the melancholy side. By comparison yours is colorful and almost happy and that probably hurt your score.
The perspective is not that interesting and looks like you just stopped to take the shot looking downward. A different angle might have worked better.
If you don't come home from taking outdoor pictures with contorted soreness in your body then you probably took most pictures from a dull perspective. :) Message edited by author 2005-04-04 00:45:03. |

Grave side bouquetby itripnComment by kearock: I too would prefer the grave stone(s) in focus. The flowers are pretty, but by having them in focus, they become the subject of the photo, thereby making it fit the challenge less. |

Grave side bouquetby itripnComment by justin_hewlett: I think that in order to be effective as a cemetery photo, the gravestone should be in focus, with the flowers out of focus, and not taking up quite as much of the photo. |

And sow, it begins...by itripnComment by Matthew: lots of artefacting in this image - needs to be tidied using a cleaning filter (like neatimage) and/or less compression for the ubmission (in PS: "save for web" and set the settings for as near 150k as possible). |
