Interesting choice of DOF. I like that. B&W works well. Composition is pretty good. But somehow, this doesn't hold my interest.

I hesitate to make comments since I am obviously not an expert, but here goes: the photo meets the challenge and has an interesting focal point. It is just my opinion that a photo should be able to "stand alone" apart from the challenge (not sure that makes sense, in other words, it should be a good subject even if you don't know what challenge it was entered into). I felt that was where this photo was a little weak -- I couldn't see it having meaning apart from the challenge.

the DOF is bad here imho. I can't see any reason to make it that shallow.
unfortunately using DOF in a good way is VERY hard to master
