An Exercise in Defianceby yuormeComment by graphicfunk: returning for comment:
This image has such a good feel and as I type I look and relook to find why it makes such a superb image. First, the facial expression is a gem. The adult and aged hand holding that of the youth and the angle of the pen, the tilt of the table, the drawings on the table which indicate a different and merry mood as compared with the reality of the moment. And yes, the lighting on the subjects face adds to the defiant expression. Then the winderful colors present. Bumping to 9 |

An Exercise in Defianceby yuormeComment by nova: Great expression on the defiant one's face! Would have liked it a bit better if it were rotated left to a more level perspective, also might like to see more of the teacher/parent (the authority figure, after all). |

An Exercise in Defianceby yuormeComment by jamminjj: The expression on his face is great! I think this is a wonderful shot, but personally, I think the huge black border takes away from it a little. |

An Exercise in Defianceby yuormeComment by Bibliophile: Cute. I love the old womans hand. His expresion seems forced, but hey - that's the way kids are sometimes. I'm not sure I like the tilt, or the colors. It seems to have a green cast. Good Luck. |

An Exercise in Defianceby yuormeComment by KDO: Great use of warm colors to mirror the child's anger. Brilliant tilted angle and use of lighting. How did you get the child to show that expression in his face? Too perfect! Thanks for sharing. The size of the pen add to the extreme, over the top feeling of this photo. Artfully framed. Fantastic Shot! |
