Lonely in New Mexicoby ethanfunkelComment by Dr.Confuser: Fantastic image. Contrast is dramatic. Colors are good. focus is off a bit, but too badly. In another challenge I would rate it an 8 - 10. But here it just barely barely meets the challenge. In fact all the light is from over your left sholder. You get a bit of light reflected off the sky, but IMO hardly backlit. |

Lonely in New Mexicoby ethanfunkelComment by dwterry: With the shadow of the tree falling behind the tree ... this appears to be front lighting rather than back lighting. Otherwise, it's an awesome shot... beautiful colors, great composition and good background drama. |

Lonely in New Mexicoby ethanfunkelComment by giega: Beautiful shot. Nice color, contrast, focus. But it seems as light is coming from the front... The shadow of the tree is a give away. At least it seems so to me. |

Lonely in New Mexicoby ethanfunkelComment by hannafate: What you have here is pretty much the reverse of backlighting. The background is dark, and the light is from the front. It's a nice shot of a late afternoon storm, though. |

Lonely in New Mexicoby ethanfunkelComment by eaponygyrl: I would not consider this a backlight since it is illuminating the subject from the front. Very nice photo! I really like the dark clouds with the sunlight. Makes it dramatic. |
