Stacksby jduffettComment by DrAchoo: Hmmm, I actually don't think this is a bad photo. it's a bit static in it's perpendicular composition. Perhaps more zoom out and a crop with some negative space. Or perhaps shooting from a different angle.
I think you could have made it stronger by shooting at a different time of day where there would be more definition between sky and steam. They get lost and it would have been great to be able to pull the billowing steam out more. Go back to the original and see if using the blue channel for B&W coversion helps. It all depends how white the sky was in reality. |

Rusty Lockby jduffettComment by Jutilda: Very nice. There's something about the simple yet intricate aspects of an old lock. I like the filter. The detail is good as well. |

Mauriceby jduffettComment by RKT: What a chubby little critter this is! Perhaps instead of hiding all his winters stash he has eaten it instead...so cute. |

Mauriceby jduffettComment by madison461: Maurice is a chucky little critter and it might be a Maureen by looking at it's underbelly and the slight appearance of nursing?
Lovely capture! |

Mauriceby jduffettComment by macrothing: 8 - Good capture. Excellent coloring. Good detail. Criticism; difficult, but perhaps even sharper if possible (obviously camera/lens dependent), especially on that fur, (I like the pose/detail in the arms/fore paws) - like to be able to see more detail in those feet/claws too, but difficult to capture 'it all' in the squirrel. Perhaps a tighter crop (or even a vertical framing, not sure) enabling more 'zoom'/closer (quality dependent), may have also made this even better in my opinion. Like the 'context' of the brown 'twigs' top left, adds another element, which would obviously be lost in a vertical framing so who knows. |
