An Easy Decisionby anniepieComment by Rankles: Great exposure and subject!
My main advice for this one is be careful with the plane of your shot angle - the subject looks good but then the fruit bowl makes us realise we're kind of upside down, bending over and it's a little unnatural. Play around with the angle a bit next time to find one that really works whilst getting everything in shot (it isn't always easy at all, but then you can go with the 'flat lay' setup if all else fails!) |

A Study in Reflections of Remainsby anniepieComment by Rankles: Free studies tend to have a lot of good entries, so don't be discouraged by the low score! This is a much improved composition, although the horizon line is a little crooked (easily fixed in phone or post). The colours look good and I like the contrast between the nature and the industry.
I look forward to seeing you in future challenges! |

Boating through a Child's Eyeby anniepieComment by Rankles: The camera is struggling a bit with that sky there, it's always tough with direct sunlight.
The railing in the bottom is an unfortunate distraction too.
But the subject is a good choice and another good idea for a challenge. Try a little wider next time for the shot, let the subject breathe a bit. Remember the rule of thirds goes both horizontally and vertically and you'll have a solid composition! |

Beams and Rivetsby anniepieComment by Rankles: This is a solid idea in a difficult challenge and it's unlucky not to score more highly. Keep up the great ingenuity with the shot ideas and good luck! |

True Loveby anniepieComment by Rankles: Good to see him again! It's always tricky to get focus on energetic dogs. It's not possibile with an iPhone to set the f-stop but remember to leave a little bit more open than you would need with a human due to their big noses :) I'd start at f5.6 with your main camera if you plan on doing something similar and make sure you have a lot of light.
I look forward to seeing you in future challenges! |

Nature's Tapestryby anniepieComment by Rankles: A good eye for composition and colour. I like the idea for this and whilst there are lots of things that could be improved it's often a case of having to catch these things in the moment as best you can, and I think you did a good job considering! Love the trees framing the rainbow. |

My Buddyby anniepieComment by Rankles: Lovely dog! Reminds me of my own.
My favourite dog portraits are those that really get close on the details of the fur in the face, nice and sharp. Then in a full body like this I'd have loved to see the background further away and therefore out of focus.
Dogs are reaallly photogenic, you barely need any help from the lighting so you can focus all on composition! I'd love to see more pics of Buddy! |

My Buddyby anniepieComment by primabarbara: what a pity that your Buddy didn't get better scores, such a lovely dog!
Can you see thet the focus point is in the background on the fence?
The lack of sharpness in Buddy's face might have cost you better scores as well as the fact that you cut the paws off. |
