Now I get the title. Sorry about losing your good friend. Hard to tell from the photo, but he doesn't appear to be elderly or out of shape.

As for the photo, B&W was a good choice. I also like the line on the road as a 'leading line' so to speak. Do think that maybe a bit off the top, and a small crop to the left, would have created a little better dynamic with the comp. Putting him off-center and allowing the curve of the road and line to play a little stronger.
