Contort XVby smithmaComment by posthumous: the subject is fascinating and beautifully lit. I wonder if you should experiment with composition? Maybe not. the centered composition makes the figure look like an exhibit on display, which creates an interesting if disturbing response from the viewer. |

Contortby smithmaComment by colorcarnival: I'm slowly working my way thru the challenge. So hopefully you've joined in and done some more!
Interesting use of light and shadow. I'm fascinated by how it emphasizes the details on your back. Maybe someone said this already, but I would like to see one of two things: either some kind of backlighting to help you pull away from the background (since we can already see some of the foreground), or some lighting on your right side to balance things out. I think if you wanted to look like you were emerging from the darkness, then we should not be able to see the stuff in front of you.

Contort XIIIby smithmaComment by Ecce_Signum: Well, no prizes for guessing your March FS submission Michael ;) Another capture worthy of closer inspection (said in an artistic way btw). I've always been a fan of negative space as it almost always adds a little 'something' to an image imho. Excellent series of shots and looking forward to your next project :) |
