Striking Distanceby cdn1Comment by KristinaG: At first I was disappointed that there was no mouse or animal in this picture. Then I remembered a fact from my biology class that owls can hear mice and stuff moving under the snow, and then strike through it. I am assuming that is what is happening here? So cool! The impact on the snow would have also made an awesome picture. 8 |

Striking Distanceby cdn1Comment by CNovack: What a great action shot!!! Love the details in the outstretched wings of this owl as he swoops in for the hunt. Would have loved to see the full wingspan not clipped but it is a very rare opportunity to capture such a moment so it is not something that overall detracts from the shot. I can see this being in the top 20:-) |
