I don't think the strange crop works, what was wrong with 2/3 or 3/4? The man is too close to the edge of the frame... what's wrong with rule of thirds here? The red/orange doesn't work too well for me, I'd be tempted to colour balance it. The silhouette isn't really strong, was it possible to move around to get a better angle? The object on the upper right edge of the frame really kills the composition. The change in consistency in the water at the top of the frame is also not good for the composition, I wonder why you left it in?
