Heart-le-Poolby tonyvComment by Kavey: A sweet idea. Because of the angle of view a lot of the impact of the shape is lost as it's obviously skewed by perspective. Compositionally this isn't strong for me with the heart floating in the middle of a somewhat nondescript pool though the patterns are somewhat interesting. The reflection at the top left is distracting though the dark green shadow at the bottom is OK. |

Isolatedby tonyvComment by Kavey: Pretty landscape and taken under some nice light. Main problem for me is that distance makes it too difficult to discern any detail in the settlement. I either want to see more detail there or not have it interrupt the landscape at all. As it is it just kind of makes it a bit messy. You have some nice detail in the sky, I think it would be stronger if you used a polarising filter to darken up the blues and bring out contrast between the clouds and the sky. |

Stare at the Wallby tonyvComment by mpeters: Hi from the Critique Club... Hopefully I can give you a couple of things to think about related to this picture. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
First impression: on topic picture, bright with a duotone type feel.
Composition: You have placed your shadow in a good place according to the rule of thirds. That said, there are several other shadows from doors/window or something covering part of your shadow. I feel the impact could have been greatly increased by moving so your shadow was centered either in the open door area on the RH or in the middle of the window to your left. Personally I think the RH open space with your shadow, accompanied by the window to your left would have been the best choice.
Technical: Lighting works in that your shadow is cast clearly, although the shadow does seem to light. Overall range of tones seems good. All objects are equadistant from the camera so depth of focus is not an issue.
Challenge: This fits within the challenge description so you wouldn't have lost any points there. More isolation of the shadow would have helped grow your vote by a fair amount.
Keep shooting.

... Daydreamsby tonyvComment by hideout: Love the sand background, like the simplicity and chaos at the same time, only wish is the reel had a tad more light on it. |
