A bit soft but I like the idea and post processing.

I like the leading line created by the flow of water, and how it isn't a solid line but broken pieces lying here and there. Makes us wonder which path is taken, where exactly we should tread with our eyes. Seems almost metaphoric...

Beautiful wintery scene. I love how moving water looks like velvet.

Very nice. I can see some more detail has been recovered in the foliage. I would like to see some more contrast on the small inner rocks.

Interesting colors. I like how the reds pop out and frame the falls, I think this is a little bright though and there is noise in there that is a tad distracting. The brightness in the sky detracts from the impact of the beautiful falls

There is definitely potential in this picture. But also some errors imho.

I would crop much tighter. That's always something you tend to do wrong in the beginning. Here the wall adds nothing but distraction. The strength of the photo is the eye.

Also the ligh is not optimal. Too much from above. The eyes are too dark. Have a look at this thread //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=585228

also color cast is a bit orange, but that may be my screen.

I would have put her face in the top of the frame and had fer stand at least ten paces away from the quite distracting brick wall.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

Hi Matt,

A good long-exposure shot. Always good to experiment with these. The first thhing I notice about this shot is the apparent inconsistency between the sky and the ground - they juts don't look like they go together. The ground looks as if it was light seperately (although in all likelyhood thsi is as a result of post-processing).

Regarding the post-processing. While I'm note really sure what you did, it looks to me like you were focusing very much on the sky and didn't pay enough attention to how the ground was being impacted - specifically with the green of the grass looking too saturated. You could have masked this out.

Another thing you could have done would be to decrease your aperture to f/10 or so. This would have created flares on your light-sources. If this worked on the stars the sky could have been more engaging.

It is my hope that these insights are helpful and constructive. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique. And please remember to mark it "Helpful" if you found it so. Good luck with future challenges.

Cheers
Paul

I think this could have been great but it looks a little washed out and blocky in the bottom third.
