Snip & Pressby Bear_MusicComment by jduffett: I like the composition, but I think it would benefit from different lighting to get a warmer tone from the wood. Nice all the same though! |

Snip & Pressby Bear_MusicComment by jmsetzler: Greetings :)
There are a couple items about this image that could use some extra thought. First of all, the choice of the wooden cutting board as a background for this still life may not have been the best one. The diagonals are nice in the composition, but the color or the background doesn't mesh well with the subject. The composition also feels a little uncomfortable with the handle of the scissors missing in the frame. That compositional item seems to break the rhythm within the image. I'm bad about saying this, but I believe this composition would be stronger as a black and white also. That would eliminate the color conflict. There is 'conflict' within the color structure here because your tools have a cool metal color and the board has a warmer feel to it.
Just some food for thought :)

Rippling Treeby Bear_MusicComment by Bear_Music: The tree was shot silhouetted against the sky. The ripples are a photoshop effect. Amaxing how it came out, ain't it? |

iris budby Bear_MusicComment by Bear_Music: Thanx jpo. This is part of a large series I have done that is specifically working with gaussian blur and haloes. Some work better than others. |

iris budby Bear_MusicComment by jpochard: This is lovely. I really like the soft colors and the dof. The simplicity of it makes the shot. My only nitpick would be the halo around the bud. I think it's distracting. |
