i like everything about this shot (dof, colors, pov, expressions, lighting, and even the corner blurring at some extent) except the lens distortion at the top of models head. this should place high.

This image has high impact and wow factor with it's rich combination of color and detail with properly controlled highlights and lighting. The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured carries some visual impact. Technically, it's a very well composed image which is a plus along with the excellant conversion to black and white. From an artistic standpoint, it lacks impact. A worthy entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.
