The dart: the balloons natural enemyby millsaComment by Sheryll: Looking through this challenge for the balloons 2 challenge this week and when I saw this one the first thought I had was "broken heart" I think that would have been a great title for this entry. Well done. |

Yin and Yangby millsaComment by mcaldo: Haikido.. It's not easy to capture the spirit of a deceivingly effortless-looking art. I very much like that the main subject is a woman, as it highlights the fact that quiet focus and economy of movements are here far more important than muscles and aggressivity (not that I have not know women extremely effective at very aggressive sports, but anyway). I love the slow shutter speed here, and the stillness of the heads and the firm eye contact between the opponents, another distinctive feature of this art I think.
As for the thrower not being completely in focus, I see your point but also appreciate that the lower half of the body is perfectly still, again stressing the economy of movements and her firm stability.
You did a great job of capturing the faces, in my opinion.
The only thing I don't like is the background, but surely when capturing real action something has to give and an higher angle to exclude the wall would have not perhaps been that effective.
Sorry, I just stumbled itno this by chance and felt like commenting.
Well done. |

Hitting the matby millsaComment by geinafets: You captured the most important part of the action--well done! but I wish you had pulled out some more texture in the wall and the clothing. |
