Looks like your doggie is waiting for someone to come in the door! Nice use of b&w, gives it a feeling of longing for someone/thing. I like the expression too. The background is a bit cluttered, but still it is a good shot!

I like the building. It is simple and it has strong lines. I agree that it is so simple that one is tempted to add something; but I don't thing the lamp does it for me.
