I would like to add now, that the alien in question IS my one! So my comment below made Pete laugh rather hard. He wondered that I didn't recognise the bin either!

Well I wasn't home that day so didn't know he'd entered and it just didn't occur to me.

Good news is my little alien is safe and sound by my desk and is NOT trash, and actually Pete loves him too.

A Toy Story alien can NEVER be described as trash! I wonder if this would have made people think a bit more if you had cropped out the context of the trash can on the right perhaps - just leaving the arm hanging out), showing just bits of the alien and the rubbish.
