Wow...great photo, you really have an awesome eye and it shows here with this photo.
I think your composition is perfect, and you used depth of field perfectly here...not too much, not too little. Your use of black and white to convey the mood worked well here. Great conversion also.
As far as something to improve upon, I can't think of much really...this is really a great photo but apparently not something with enough "mass appeal" to win a contest here at DPC. I could definately see this in a magazine in many many places.
Your title could be a bit better I suppose. Try to think (especially with such a
moody shot) of something that you're trying to convey. Usually restating the challenge isn't
that good of an idea (sometimes that may be looked down upon as if you ran out of creative juices). I for some reason think something along the lines of one word for this photo... "sensitive" "hungry" "alone" "lonely" ... but either way, you have a lot of time to think about titles.
Great first entry...5.72 is a GREAT score for your first entry, I'm sure you'll only go up from here...just keep your creativity going and keep shooting!
