At 500x375 pixels, it's a bit small for a challenge (too much detail loss)
Sky is a little blown out too. Shooting at a different time of the day may have helped too (early or late in the day when the sun & UV levels aren't so harsh).

Nice colors. Good composition. The fence detracts from the abandoness because it looks too new.

Good DOF, but photo seems cluttered. Maybe if the machinery on the left was cropped out it would be better.
