Julie, the more I look at this the more impressed I am. I really thought this would ribbon. I love the light, lines, atmosphere...it is a very deserving winner of a blue ribbon in a challenge which yeilded some very so so photos.

I am also happy to know the potential of the Sigma 105mm 2.8 macro which I also own!!!

WOW! This is wonderful! I never made it all the way through the voting in this challenge, but if I had, you would have gotten a ten from me, too! Congratulations on your blue...this is beautiful!

We held our hands next to the window and that is the only light source. Background is a piece of foam core that I painted about 4 feet behind us. Because I wanted to use my own hands in the picture (They have lots of lines on them.), the hardest part was triggering the remote with my foot and trying to position our hands so that they were framed correctly. Out of about 50 (yes 50) shots there were only two that had the hands in the right place. This one just needed a little cropping at the top.

In PS I cropped, adjusted levels and curves, increased red saturation then converted to black and white using mainly green channel (80 green and 20 red I think) so that the reds would darken. Sharpened, added a slight hue and that is it. Thanks for the great scores and comments!
