sea foamby chaliceComment by Abra: A painting of this would be wonderful but I feel I'm missing out on a lovely photo. I do love the white, green, and lacking other colours. |

Surrealscapeby chaliceComment by chalice: Yeah. I was inspired by Sisto's ninth place photo in the World Enough and Time challenge, but didn't stop to notice that Sisto's shot was in an expert challenge, while the current challenge is not. Duh. Oh well... At any rate, it was fun to make, so not all was lost by the DQ. |

Land's Endby chaliceComment by Phocal: This is just a dark photograph that has the sun as the subject and some hill that is in silhouette. Given the challenge I wanted to see the silhouette as the subject and in this case it is not. |

Land's Endby chaliceComment by RamblinR: This is more of a landscape scene and whilst the mount in the background is black it doesn't create a great deal of interest. I find the foreground area being lit is a distraction to the image so for me a higher crop would have worked better for this image. |

An appealing image that meets the challenge
I've no doubt that you have a much improved image from the original you describe but I think you may have just started to cross the tipping point in your processing, the sky is very noisy and unnatural looking especially at the top part of the frame. I think the darkening of the lower half has benefited especially given the challenge brief we don't want too much detail we need to have the sky dominate the image as indeed it does. However, the lump on the lower right is spoiling the composition for me I think a crop to remove that would be a big improvement. I'm sure there is a lot of potential in your original washed out image that with more subtle processing could give you an even better end result.
Well done, thank you for your entry.
