Less is more, and I usually agree with this principle, however if that was the case, then why not follow it right through and wait for the clouds to move entirely from shot. Either that or go for a different angle and sillhouette the shoes against an amazing colourful sunset, or deep blue sky. I like this version of the dangling shoe theme the best so far though.

There is too much background for me. I would have cropped it better to put a better focus on the shoes.
