You've obviously used a very tight focus to create DOF here, but it doesn't seem to have worked. Why just focus on the centre strap of the sandal? The very tight crop adds tension to the shotas well when it doesn't seem to be needed. It's not clear also how you're indicating the end of the day since nothing else can be distinguished in the background to interact with the sandal. I like the contrast and lighting, creating a strong form in the sandal however... has potential.
