This is one of the better pet pictures this week and I hope it doesn't suffer from the "I am so sick of looking at cats and dogs sleeping" mood that mus have come upon every voter. This picture is more that a pet picture. I has great lighting, wonderful textures, lovely wrap around composition which gives that surround-you-with-love feeling that is the essence of dogs. Focus is perfect, little details like the eyebrow hair add interest, the unusual looking up angle set it apsrt from a snapshot. This image has a universal appeal to all dog owners, it is not just a picture of your dog, but a picture of my dogs too. 8

I find the cropping a little distracting, maybe either closeup of the face and front paws, or zoom out to get the poochie's whole body.
