Portrait of a Ponyby tembaComment by macrothing: In response to your request for comments.
I gave this a 4. Quite a nice capture with her eyes and the mane / hair blowing in the wind. Depending what you had to work with, perhaps a variation in cropping, including a nudge rotate up on the right to straighten. The centered composition isn't as strong as something off-centered may have been in my opinion, but again, depends what you had to work with. The tone itself perhaps a little strong (especially on the pink side) but that could be intentional. A variation in the hue/tone may have brought out more features as well. Overall the focus seems a bit soft, but could be a result of the pp.
After reading your comments, perhaps there were better images to be had of some mares with foals, but who knows. |

Portrait of a Ponyby tembaComment by PHOTOKID: I didnt vote in this challenge, there is some nice textures to the shot but the overall hue isnt a sepia color IMO, There is not tonal range or much contrast to it. It also feels very cramped inside the space.
Hope this helps.

Portrait of a Ponyby tembaComment by bobonacus: As per your feedback request ....
The tight crop bothers me a little, I'm not sure the sepia conversion really adds anything to the photo (for me) a larger tonal range seems to be better.
Maybe a wider angle with some trees may have helped.
I guess sepia should have a softer feel to it but personally I like this a little better with approx 50% @ 1px USM applied.
I didn't vote in this challenge but if I had I'd be giving you a 6. |

Fencing by Nature - Hedgerowsby tembaComment by lhollimon: Good landscape shot, but I think to accenuate the natural fence a tighter crop would be better. Having so much of the sky in the photo takes away from the natural fence line. |

Fencing by Nature - Hedgerowsby tembaComment by johnmcboston: I love the photo, but at this angle, the fence concept gets lost. I might have gotten 'nature as fence' if the photo was more along the hedgegrow line... A really great photo though. Wonder what a sepia or maybe blue tint woudl do for it?? |
