Here is the wikipedia definition of a portrait:
A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The first dog is almost lost in the white of the snow. I'm not sure if you have a way to fix that, but it would improve your picture if he stood out a little more. Cute picture though, the movement is great.
