Quite good balance compositionally, though maybe too rigidly orthodox. Quality of light is good, but putting that shadowed cliff top right of frame is an odd choice. Besides the scree on that slope, don;t get much feel of texture.

I love this self-portrait and those pictures look pretty interesting! Thanks for your comment on my agave image in the Textures challenge, by the way... most people are saying things like 'that's the wrong color, you ought to change it in PS' and 'where's the texture?' so I really loved your reaction. :) I guess it takes someone who knows what agave are like to appreciate that picture. Thanks so much for posting. :) (P.S. My husband is a photographer too and he works primarily in medium and large format, the latter on an old wood and brass Wista. He liked seeing your camera with the red bellows! :)

Comment by AFViper:
The lighting is too harsh, that causes you to lose a lot of detail in the shaded areas. Shooting this at a different time of day would help, although I don't know if that was possible.

The tree really makes this photo. Good texture, interesting time of day lighting which helps emphasize the tree. I like it.

This is a landscape. There are probably hundres, if not thousands of textures in that landscape, yet if that image wasn't in this challenge, the last thing I would have thought after seeing it would be "texture". Sorry if I missed your message -- I hope I am the only one. Good lick.

I was taking photos all month trying to 'get' the inversion. You managed to pull it off! This is lovely!

I'd have cropped out the little bit of branch (or whatever it is) in the very top-right corner. Otherwise, I like the way you have a contrast between warm and cold tones, along a strong diagonal.

Gives the feeling of a great NG picture. This gives the feeling of a place that not many have gone and explored. Composition is really good in that the slopping landscape makes your eyes follow down the hill. The misty background almost gives you goosebumps feeling how cold it is.
