Harbor Ropeby rupypugComment by Tim: you've overxeposed the foreground element with a very strong burst of flash - not sure what camera you are using but if it's not a SLR maybe you dont have complete control over the exposure and this is a situation you shouldn't try to take photos of
- if you do have a SLR then either reduce the flash output or the apeture so that the rope is correctly exposed - and then slow the shutter speed to allow more ambient light and expose the backgtround correctly. |

Harbor Ropeby rupypugComment by ralfw: I like the composition a lot!
This is a tough shot to get the lighting right for - as the subject, the rope, is way too bright for me - and yet, otherwise, you may not see the web well enough, so difficult in basic editing.
Excellent eye though, as the water background is makes the composition really cool. Definitely, "rope"!
(I'm guessing on camera flash was used, which can be harsh and eliminates shadows - try getting the light source to one side or the other for added shadows.) |

Harbor Ropeby rupypugComment by TheStick: IMHO the lighting is really harsh on the rope and is a major distraction to a very pretty and interesting scene. |
