Interesting: did you illuminate the steam in some way to bring out the contrsat?

Overall a very good picture.

Very good lighting. You made great use of the angle of the sun here. No flat, boring, high-noon lighting here. Color rendition, over all exposure, and contrast are all very good. About the only point I see to mention here, is that the rows you selected lead right between the buildings into a black void. The eye follows the rows, and then has to search for a point of interest. Since the buildings are relatively small in this picture, it would help to be pointed to the object you want us to see, a little more directly. Still, this is a very good photo, and you should be proud of it.

This is a magnificent photo - the tonal range whilst keeping detail in the sky and clouds is wonderful, and something achieved by so few others. Not quite my favourite, but technically the best so far, congratulations.

Greetings.

Great idea for the Challenge. Your composition is nice. I like the way you've captured the texture of the egg carton and the texture of the egg shells, but I think the color balance of the Egg Shells should have been a tad Whiter, and I really like the angle of the shot that you took.

I believe though that the large black border takes away from your finished product as my eyes keep wandering from your eggs to the border all the time.

I especially like the yellow of the egg and the egg white, but is there any way you could have avoided the reflections off of the egg whites, top and bottom and also from the next egg top?

In regards to the Egg carton, where the egg white is flowing out of the carton - - it looks like the egg carton is cut into 2 pieces? There is some shadow there also from one piece of the egg carton? where it does not meet the rest of the box properly? What happened?

Your use of cropping seems to be excellent. DOF is fine.

Your focus is okay, but the focus should have been more on the broken egg and then on the one behind it. You've got the broken one slightly out of focus (on purpose?) and the one behind it in focus. Were you concentrating more on the Egg Yolk instead of the broken shell?

Nice photograph, Robbieh.
