Diane Arbus was defiitely known for her old time classic America images. This has the feel but needs just the slight push forward to really make it sing. I suggest cleaning up your props for one thing. The empty hangers in the background, the ties on the left hand side, etc. These all constitute and add to the feel of the photo. Another trick as well is to have your subject placed in the thirds so that there's balance in the asymmetrical qualities of the image. Does that make sense? Good luck.

Very nice as it maintains the spirit. I would have explored placing the black suit right in the middle hook where the belt is to bring the eyes right back to the subject. Bumping up.
