The love of sleepby LilhoopComment by digitalknight: if this were a visual scavenger hunt you would win.
But the flat lighting here makes this really look like a quick snapshot - hard to give a good score to.
It's a good idea, I would try leaving the room dark, opening a window (day) or one lamp on at night and setting up on a table or tripod and capturing the outline of his features from the dark side of room - shooting toward the light. You may need some fill light to even out the exposure a little, a bounce card of poster board maybe?
Then the lighting is more creative, it looks like you tried to take a nice shot, and voters will be nicer and give you better scores. Hope that helps. |

The love of sleepby LilhoopComment by fantomas: there seems to be a general theme of shooting things you love without actually expressing the theme of love itself
so to me.. a shot that does not show love is not a love shot and therefore doesn't meet the criteria |

The love of sleepby LilhoopComment by thomasroed: I think the lighting is rather dull, and the colors - or lack of colors - doesnt make it any more interesting (might look better in bw?). Could be improved with a closer crop or some different settings when you shot it. It's an okay try, but it lack some essentials to be in a challenge. |

Lucy in the sky with Diamondsby LilhoopComment by cyan: more appropriate title "The Sky" cuz I don't see Lucy or diamonds. kidding aside, the sky is quite average. It lacks any dramatic effect. the foreground is dark and shadowy. Perhaps if this shot were taken in a different direction or time the foreground would be better lit giving more detail. It would also change the light spectrum somewhat perhaps giving a better tonal quality in the sky |

Lucy in the sky with Diamondsby LilhoopComment by davmct: your trees are too dark
the sky isn't as impressive as the real-estate you've given it in this shot
to be honest, there isn't anything compositionally in this picture that really draws the viewer
perhaps trying to use the foreground grass on more of an angle, or doing something different to give this picture more perspective would help. as it stands, this picture is kind of boring. |
