My Snake Plant's Homeby emaynerComment by raish: While most of the pictures have dirt/soil/earth or some such in them, which has been made to look like something else by the post processing, this has (nearly) no dirt at all. I wonder what's best. |

My Snake Plant's Homeby emaynerComment by JRalston: The flash is really harsh. The composition is lacking. Maybe if you had a lower angle showing some of the dirt it would have been more interesting. I think the color version would have been nicer as well. |

My Snake Plant's Homeby emaynerComment by LeeD: Busy and uninteresting composition. On camera flash is pretty much ALWAYS a no-no. There is no obvious dirt, but I do understand what your point is (title based). Overall, this image feels like it was "shoe-horned" into the competition for sake of having an entry. - 3 |

My Snake Plant's Homeby emaynerComment by Nefir: B&W just doesn't seem to fit with this image, and I would have shot with with a shallower dof, and recomposed to highlight a particular spot on the plant, as I really am not sure what the focus of this picture is. |

My Snake Plant's Homeby emaynerComment by DrAchoo: Well, a lot of shots are suffering from not having a real subject for the eye to rest on. This is like that. It also doesn't have a whole lot of dirt and is a bit OOF at the top. 3 |

The Cost and the Symbol of Eternal Lifeby emaynerComment by Photonurd: The composition is very interesting and I really like how the sillohettes form a natural frame for the subject. It's very geomtric and simple/clean and technically works quite well. I wish there were a bit more light on the steeple and cross, it feels slightly flat and under-exposed. I think that would have also kicked up the mood and impact of the image a notch. Well done! 8o) |

Airplanes - An Historical Perspectiveby emaynerComment by glad2badad: Wonderful place to visit isn't it? Hard to know where to start when you get there. I like the POV you've taken this from, even the open area in the distance with the natural lighting works quite well. Probably a bit busy for many voters (not "simple" enough), but I like it. Hope it did ok for you. Take care. |
