Singer sphinxby Rino63Comment by pineapple: June 14th 2006?? I must have overslept (a few days!), Rumplestiltskin-like. This is a nice image indeed. Reminds me of my mother, an expert in all things concerning needle, thread, and cloth. |

Across the Universeby Rino63Comment by Leok: Interesting idea, might have worked better if you had turned the stand around so it was hidden by the globe |

Singer sphinxby Rino63Comment by amber: Hello from the Critique Club!
The first thing that strikes me about this image is the clarity and sharpness. I can see every detail...the wear and tear of the years, the build up of debris that is inevitable, and the gorgeous, decorative detail of a machine from a past era, now replaced by boring, clinical, plastic wannabes, with no soul.
Look at that reflection in the plate! The focus and exposure here is just about perfect!
Thers's also a lovely softness and delicacy to the lighting and post processing, that adds to the charm of the image.
Compositionally, there is a wonderful, pleasing, balance between positive and negative space.
A really well executed image that exudes charm. |

A simple landscape from my windowby Rino63Comment by Phil: Greetings from the Critique Club Gennaro!
First impression : Beautiful landscape and I certainly like the sky. I am also fond of the crop.
As far as technicals go, a longer shutter might have brought out a bit more. Voters here need that "pop" to justify them handing out high scores. If you'd have a captured the moon, some stars or some far off lights you'd have definitely done better. There's just not a lot of booming detail.
Overall a beautiful, serene shot tat you should be proud of.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique this image Gennaro!
Cheers - Phil |
