Natalyby albc28Comment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I quite like model shots, I do a few myself and I particularly like slight odd, non-sterotypical ones (though I'm not sure I do enough of those). This one is odd AND bold - even better! I like how she is perched up there and her nakedness and ramshackle hair add to the sense that she is almost feral. This looks like the scene of a film I'd like to see - the lighting is cool too and adds much to the drama of the piece.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: It's probably getting hammered in the voting but I really, really like it. |

Natalyby albc28Comment by Jutilda: Nataly lost her cutting board, so she just crawled up on the counter and pouted. (hee hee) I like it's oddness. |

Nataly's Messy Wigby albc28Comment by CNovack: Interesting use of white space where the main model is confined off to the right - I almost expect to see text fade in on the left hand side announcing the music group and album cover name. Mostly a color photograph with the black and white color contrast of tones. With those two high contrast tones the visual really pops. You mention in your write-up that you wanted more of the focus to be on her face and necklaces. As you aptly expected most voted this an average shot expecting sharp focus on the headware. Although the main focus is not the wig, I still see alot of detail. One suggestion on how to make the face stand out a little more because it takes backstage to the B&W tonal contrasts and that big messy wig is to introduce a power color to the model's lips. A bright bold red would really call attention to her face for it would introduce a splash of bold color to image; not to mention the red would complement the black tones. The black pearl necklaces get really lost on that black dress - I think it is overmuch and that just the white pearl necklaces is enough to give and hold those strong contrast between black and white color tones that dominate the picture. |

Nataly's Messy Wigby albc28Comment by Lonni: I love the concept. Not sure about the composition - I want to see more of her - perhaps a full body shot could have been better? |
