What a sweet portrait! :) However, please be advised that the eyes are not in clear focus. That little NO-NO could be considered the Unpardonable Sin of Portrait Photographers! The rule I learned goes something like this, "Locate the Alpha Female in every grouping, and focus on her eyes. If you get that right,...then everyone else will be more than happy!" :)

sorry, but 'soft' eyes on a portrait is not a good idea.

Oooh, this is a lovely shot! I like what you did with the color/saturation/lighting adjustments - seems very effective. I do agree with other commenters that the cropping could be different, but as it stands now the crop you chose isn't bad at all.

Personally, I don't feel that the shadows are too muddy - I think they are a nice contrast to the lighter parts of the photo and give the city buildings and the sky a nice emphasis. And the city and sky are what, in my opinion, make this photo truly lovely.

I also like the people there as it gives a nice, personal feel, but having them not in the shot would give it a different feel that might be better (or might not).

the composition idea is good but it seems like there is too much greenery between the two subjects.

Nice capture of the feel of the area; would be nice to have the train more prominent.

Took me a minute to find the train & railroad part of this photograph. I found it. :D I don't know. Something about it, just feels like it's more about the winery sign than trains & railroads. It's a well executed image as far as your technicals go (focus, exposure, etc...) Composition is where it comes up a tad short for me. Sorry. JMO. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

Hey, I know this place! Lot's of fun train rides there, I've taken my boy to Thomas and the Polar Express there MANY times. My "Pull Over" shot was just down the road from here.

Nice shot, maybe if it was just a tad wider to include the front of the train and the steps/foreground leading up to the tracks.
