Steady vs. Movingby B74AComment by B74A: Originally posted by puzzled: Good framing and empty space at the top. Wish that only one of them (either one, actually) were alone in the shot, but it's still quite interesting this way. Tells a story. She's on his way, while the guy is staying put for the day if not longer. |
I did that, so see

dye ing sun (De Sol Ation)by B74AComment by Man_Called_Horse: not convincing as destitute.
comp needs work, nice lines, duotone interesting, power lines distracting, light poles distracting, blacks a bit too deep, whites not there, light could be better, dof ok but a bit blurred in bg. |

Push-Hands with Chair on Tableby B74AComment by B74A: This is a night shot, long exposure. The light is from a bright lamp shining over the entire pool area - with some warmth to the colours, it looks a bit more like day, but because of the light source, the shadow is very well-defined. The shadow of the person is me, trying to stand still for self timer plus 8 seconds. I was almost not let in, had to do it quickly, without a tripod, so had to improvise.
Idea might be good but quality of the shot is ... not worth more than 4.788 and 134/154, so it is fair enough for this effort. But I wanted to enter a challenge, and was too impatient to wait for the next one ...
feet no need for the critique club on this one!
Next one is running close to 6.0 (framing), whilst "Desolation" was another desparate attempt. Bokeh I haven't done yet but I have a rather good idea so hopes are high on that one!

Uploadingby B74AComment by puzzled: Interesting series! Wish the depth of field were such that the emphasis was more on the bugs and less on the background, but when you see a shot like this, I guess ya just gotta take it - no time for piddling around with the camera settings ;-) These bugs are very pretty. |
