Looks like there's plenty going on to not be bored with. It's a little dark. It definately gives the feel of stationary though.

I like the idea and composition of your photo, but I think it misses the point of the brief.
The page flipping adds movement to the shot, and I would imagine that the entire thing should convey the idea of "not moving"
Maybe I'm wrong - maybe you're right.
Then there's also the technical bits and pieces.
The image seems a bit flat and lacking in tonality.
