The wooden slats and rods look like warp and weft. You've told us it's a sliding door but I, even knowingly, imagined the slats to be rays of the sun somehow constrained by an oppressive new physics. The dark spaces nicely set off the the intricate, almost furry, grain of the wood. I also like how the focus falls off on the left. Admirable elucidation of this detail.

The biggest challenge in this challenge is dealing with the cats. I don't mind cats but for reasons unknown, I wince at pictures of them. Not this one though, because it's a pure expression of catness. Tones, inky blackness, ambiguous light and slinky grain. All the elements necessary to convincingly assemble some cats. Thank you.
