Black and Whiteby NikonJebComment by SandyP: I like this one alot. I love the sharp texture in his beard, and I love skin tones that show depth and texture. Great job! One of my favorites. |

Black and Whiteby NikonJebComment by tiggermo: Well...I see what you are trying to do here, but you still could have gotten away with it by making the photo an actual black and white...you could have titled it "double meaning" or something. And where are his eyes! A very Beautiful man. Keep on taking his portrait! But I'm going to have to give you a 2. sorry |

Goggomobilby NikonJebComment by noraneko: Hi Jeb,
Couple of things I noticed on this photo. (I gave it a 5, by the way.)
1) Because you took it in direct, midday sunlight, there's a huge amount of contrast and it looks a bit flat. I'd love to see this same photo taken just after rain with a tripod and a slight warming filter.
2) I think it could stand a little bit of sharpening (unsharp mask in PS)
3) The shadow of the vine over the right side of Goggomobil does not look deliberate, and makes it hard to discern the word.
That being said, I think this is a really creative photo and solid entry. If you get a chance to photo it under some other light conditions, post back please! I love vintage captures like this. |

Got the truck runnin' yet? by NikonJebComment by e301: Very straightforward image - the obvious standing-up point of view, framing simply to include the edges of the truck, colour just accurate. This then, depends for its impact only on the subject, rather than the photographers relation to it, and that won't be enough to engage people's attention. |
