The lighting is a bit too intense, IMO. Also it doesn't work well with the composition in that it produces a very strong focal point which doesn't take you anywhere except the middle. I think you would have been better served to not light this from within but rather from the outside, using light to give form and shape to the subject. On the positive, I the image is nice and clean and has crisp sharpness.

I think you'll get voted down because they don't look too purple. also, it looks a little noisy. Maybe shoot as lower ISO? I do like the composition and the black surface.
