Wow, I LOVE this! I'm one that tends to love those close cropped "in yoru face" photos. They just jump right out at you. I love the way the earth tones blend with that beautiful blue background. This is a great shallow depth of field photo.

I don't think that you zoomed in too much at all. By using longer focal length, you have reduced DOF and put the sharpness right where it does the most good.
I also like "da border,".. girl : )
