It's a beautiful portrait that conveys both outward and inner beauty. And I like the distracting hair. :) Well done and congrats on a great score. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 09/08/2007 10:37:15 PM | A Spicy Portraitby daboardergirlComment by littlegett: Sorry I didn't comment on the image earlier, I was just being a dork. For me, I think the chin should be down more for one. Also, when I think spicy I think chili peppers, so maybe instead of greens and browns, if the flakes where yellow, red, and orange I think it would have really set the 'spicy' feel. Also, the thumb doesn't have the greatest appeal. At first I looked at it and thought icky, but than thought maybe it was freckles. as I opened to the larger view I saw something else.
Well these are my two cents for what they are worth. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 09/08/2007 07:55:04 PM | A Spicy Portraitby daboardergirlComment by Ann: hmmm....I gave this a 4, so I should comment. I think for me, the technical quality is fine. Focus, lighting, DOF, etc, are all good. I might have cropped off the dark stuff on the right side, but that's personal opinion. Usually, if the technicals are all in place, I would give an image at least a 6, but I think when I saw this, I instantly went, ewww...ick, gave it a 4, and moved on to the next photo before I could really look at it closely. So there you have it for me...

The DPC voters seem to like everything being sharp. Another improvment would have been to do something with the lower right corner, where there is something, which I assume is a shoulder strap, that distracts from the primary subject, the lips. A piece of light or dark cloth on the shoulder and up to the side of the face would have eliminated that area, or maybe a little closer in with the camera.
A little makeup (lipstick) for a dash of color and a title to draw attention to the lips, and hint of action, like "Spicy Kiss" may have helped a little too.
I am not exactly sure what you did to get the image, I am guessing that it is your face in a bowl?
It is a great concept shot which just needed for the original to lead to a carefully planned reshoot.
That is the worst that I can do with it. I hope that you are not offended.
Don't take all this too seriously, as I seem to not know what I am doing according to the below 5's on my two current challenge images. : ) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
